Gavin turned 10-month's old on January 10th and I can't believe that in just a month and a half he'll be a year old. I never really noticed how extremely fast time flew until I had him. He is constantly learning something new that when I sit back and think about what he has accomplished I tend to forget that the simple things he does now were once new and exciting. I was going through pictures the other night and as I was looking at a picture of how Jim was pulling Gavin up from laying down to sitting up by grasping his hands, I realized that at that exact moment we were thinking about how amazing it was that Gavin could sit up like that while holding his head up on his own. These are the simple things that I don't want to miss or forget. I truly cherish the moments I spend with him and I don't ever want to forget or take the simple things for granted.
Okay - now that I've made myself cry I thought that I would update everyone how things have been in the Stokes house. Well, after we got over the Christmas sickness Gavin came down with the stomach flu on a Friday and threw up pretty much every day, at least once, for 5 days straight. Let's also throw in that on that Monday I got sick myself. On top of the stomach bug Gavin got an ear infection and had teeth coming in, needless to say he didn't eat much more than 3 ounces in a days time for a week straight and that was with us forcing it down his throat. He is all better now and is eating us out of house and home... ha. It is so nice to have him back to normal and now he is enjoying all the foods he loves and then some.
Here are some pictures of Gavin over the past couple weeks. Let me explain the cloth in his back pocket of the first picture. No, he is not getting ready to help dad work on our cars. While Gavin was sick with an extremely running nose we had a brain storm that instead of tracking down the cloth every time to wipe his nose we would just put it in his back pocket so that he would always have one on him for us to use... I think it was a very cute and ingenious idea!!!
