Yesterday was Gavin's 2 month check-up at the doctor's office. First thing the doctor said as she walked in the room was that she has her new 'Biggest baby at 2 month check-up for the year 2008'. Don't know for sure if this is a record we want to place or not, lol. She also said that she wouldn't have recognized him if he weren't with his mommy, "he has grown eyelashes and eyebrows", she said. The following are his new numbers:
Weight: 15lbs 8.5oz. - 97th percentile
Length: 23 1/5 in. - 75th percentile
Head circumference: 16 1/4 in. - 75th percentile
Basically the percentile's mean that there are only so many babies at the same stage that are bigger than he is... so this means that there are only 3% of babies at his stage that weigh more than him. Yep, we have a porker on our hands but I love my chunky man!!! She said that she's no longer concerned about his caloric intake (hmmm, wonder why) that we can give him up to 4oz. of water during the day to suffice his growing appetite. We are also able to start giving him cereal in his bottles, even though I have been doing that off and on anyway... now it's been approved. Lastly, he has been put on a reflux medicine to help with the burning from the acid.
