Gavin turned 9-months old Wednesday and had his check up yesterday. He came home with a cough Monday or Tuesday... I don't know, the days are running together. Anyway, Tuesday night he was coughing a lot and crying because it hurt so he barely slept a wink and kept me up in the process. I stayed home with him Wednesday then Wednesday night his cough got worse, he only wanted mommy and didn't want mommy to sit so it was another long night. I felt so bad for the little guy because it seemed to really hurt him. Since he had his appointment already set up for his check up we just used that for checking his cough. She said that his lungs sounded great and his ears were clear so she just thinks it's a cold. This is only the second time he has had a cough and the first time it was a sinus infection so it was kind of a big deal for him. He is doing much better today and actually slept in his own bed last night instead of on mommy.
On to his appointment... the doctor said he was doing everything, and then some, that a 9-month old should be doing. She was impressed with the fact that he is pulling up on everything and cruising furniture, she said that he will probably be an early walker so it looks like we need to baby proof like crazy and soon. He weighs 25 1/2 pounds and is in the 97 percentile for his weight, his length is 27 3/4 inches and his head circumference is 18 inches with both being in the 75th percentile. He has been given the go ahead on meats and she encourages us to feed him different types of food, I am so worried he will choke so I guess I just need to get over that... ha. I told her that he turns down his bottle now and will really only take his morning one and the others we just put aside and figure he'll eat it when he's ready. She was so very happy to hear that because that means he doesn't have an attachment to the bottle so she wants us to do away with the bottle as much as possible and just feed him with sippy cups or a regular cup. I suppose this is good news, I don't know, this is my first.
Well, other than the above everything went great and he's thriving just has she hopes so we'll see her back in 3 months.
