Last Wednesday I stayed home with Gavin because he didn't sleep well the night before due to a cough and stuffy nose. Well, he just did not want to sleep that day but I knew that he was beyond tired so I put him in his crib anyway and he entertained himself for several minutes while chatting up a storm. I was in the laundry room and noticed he was quiet which with a chatty baby doesn't usually mean a good thing, I went to check on him and found him head down chewing on his crib. In shock I yelled "Gavin no!!!" which of course made him instantly look up to reveal black specks around his mouth from the paint of the furniture. Yep, he had two three different spots all around his bed. When you have a baby you read all the things that they MAY do but you never think they will do it or you just aren't prepared, this was one of those moments that we weren't prepared. I searched long and hard for this crib set so it was a little upsetting to see the chew marks. Since he was obviously not interested in sleeping we packed up in the car and headed to Walmart to see if they had crib teething guards, I have decided they do not exist in stores so we have to order it on-line. In the mean time Jim decided to rig up some baby blankets (thanks again Mary, they work for everything) and zip ties to keep him from further ruining his crib.
can't possibly taste good

Haha, you should see our crib, it's destroyed from chewers. I think Carter has lost interest now, but there have been several days when I've come into his room to get him and his face is covered with wood stain, good thing you caught it early! Ours is beyond covering up! I figured eventually he'd figure out it didn't taste very good.
