Brrrr... it's cold outside. The snow started falling Wednesday afternoon and brought about 5 inches to Jeff City, we had some major snow drifts at our house when we woke up on Thursday. Patch would barely could outside to use the bathroom and when he did the snow was up to his belly and getting worse as the day went on. Both Jim and myself had trouble getting in and out of the driveway due to drifts. I ended up staying home with Gavin yesterday since our county roads weren't very clear and I have to travel all county curvy roads to get anywhere and I just don't like to risk my sons life so I can get to work. We found things to keep our interest and keep 'us' happy. We colored, wrestled, played on the bed and built a fort out of pillows and blankets on the couch. With the weather being so gloomy it must have made Gavin sleepy because he didn't give much resistance at nap time and slept for about 3 1/2 hours... wew!!!
Jim and I usually take turns giving Gavin a bath and usually when it's dad's turn he usually comes out with flatten straight hair and the other night was no exception except he also came out with his jammy top unbutton some and he just reminded of a little Hugh Hefner. Well, it was jammies and not a red robe and the jammies were spiderman but he just had that look.
Knock on wood he hasn't really gotten sick lately and at his last appointment his ears looked better and he was cleared to not go back until his 2-year check up. Yikes, he's almost 2-years... where has the time gone. He is such an active boy and still not really scared of many things. The Parents as Teachers lady said that he's above what should be expected at his age physically and that he's probably not as concerned about busting out the words. I do have to say that he is saying more and more and understands things we say and will do the things we ask him so he's got that down but just doesn't want to carry on a conversation... ha.
