A new year begins

As a new year begins so do new things in our house. While home over Christmas vacation Gavin was a big boy and went potty in his potty chair. One of the things they say to watch for is a dry diaper after nap and he had that so I decided that when he woke up one day I would have him try to sit on the potty and sure enough with a little patience daddy and I got to witness his first potty in his potty chair. He has pooped in the big potty but that was mid bath when we didn't want him to poop so we quickly transferred him to the potty. This he actually tried and succeeded so he finally got a sticker like he's been wanting. What a BIG boy and proud moment for us.
As much as I LOVE Christmas I was sort of in and out of feeling it this year, it dawned on me this morning that Santa/God was putting me back in the spirits with giving me a white Christmas. Sorry to those of you who don't like snow but I asked Santa and prayed for a white Christmas and we were blessed with one. We had such a great holiday and rang in the New Year with Jim's family. At around 10:30 (yep, way passed his bedtime) Gavin was running and knocking over Grandma Stokes and Great Aunt Dee then he would help them up just to do it all over again. We do this many nights, he takes a running start toward me then plows me down, he just thinks it's hilarious and I have fun with it as well. While on vacation Gavin starting sleeping in until 8:00 so it was hard for all of us to get up this morning and when I went to wake him up he was in the corner of his bed with his butt up in the air and wasn't very happy with me. He was so use to being around us that when I left this morning for work he was crying, tears and all. Oh, how I wish I could have stayed home. Here are just a few random pictures from the holiday week that I had to share...
