Another Stokes: Christmas has come and gone!!

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year. It was amazing watching Gavin actually being excited about Christmas this year. He got into opening presents and truly enjoyed the decorations. Christmas morning he ran to the tree, he saw a mega blocks wagon and just took off running... it was so cute. I really didn't think he'd get into the holiday as much as he did but I'm so glad he did. We spent Christmas Eve at my mom's then woke up at our house Christmas morning then headed to Jim's parents for breakfast then finished the evening at Jim's grandma's, our festivities were finished for the year on Saturday at my dad's house. I can't believe all the things he received from Santa, grandparents and other family members... he is truly a blessed child and has many people in his life who love him. Our babysitter was off this past week so Jim and I stayed home and had an amazing week, I have almost forgotten what the terrible two's are like because Gavin has been such a good kid. I'm sure it was just a nice break for mom and dad but I really enjoyed my time at home this past week and a half... I am really dreading tomorrow morning. Gavin actually starting sleeping in until 8:00 so I'm wondering how hard it's going to be to get him up and going tomorrow. Friday we took all our Christmas decorations down and boy does the house feel bare. Gavin would run into the living room each morning saying 'tree on' so we would turn that on then he'd run to the dining room to our other tree and say 'tree on'. Friday afternoon he walked around saying 'tree on (teeon)' and looking bummed... it almost made me cry to see that he missed Christmas decorations just as much as I did. This Christmas has made me so excited about the upcoming years...
