Happy V day!!!

Last Thursday Gavin's babysitter had a Valentine's party so in the spirit he wore a shirt for the day, which I thought was just adorable on him. He came home with several cards, suckers, candy and crafts. All in all I think he had a great day at his party, he hung out with grandma and grandpa Stokes for the evening so hopefully he wasn't too hyper from all the sugar (I'm told he did fine but you know how grandparents like to brag)!!! Sunday was Valentine's Day and while we don't get too hyped about that day it is still nice to give the ones we love a little treat. Daddy and Gavin bought me a couple cards and a flowering plant to keep in the house and supposedly it's an easy to care for plant so it should remain in my care for a month... let's hope it makes it longer than that though!!! They were being sneaky and I kept hearing from around the corner "hold it upright" then Gavin turned the corner carrying the plant with a huge smile on his face and excited that he was holding it upright then WHAM, it fell on the floor, out of the pot and all. I could see the disappointment in his face so all I could do was go up to him and give him hugs and tell him how pretty it was and that he did a good job... that put a smile back on that adorable face. Lastly, Gavin LOVES, LOVES, LOVES balloons. So much that I'm contemplating just giving him a stash of helium balloons for his birthday... kidding, but how easy would that be??!! I knew that for Valentine's Day the best gift I could give him would be a balloon and boy was I right. He doesn't let this balloon very far out of his sight and the day we got it was he hugging it, holding it and trying to feed it dinner... it was very cute!! It has even turned into a nightly routine that we chase each other around the house while holding the balloon string, yes it's strange but I love to see him smile so I will do anything.
