March 10th Gavin turned 2-years old. Wow, how the time has flown by. Our little boy isn't so little anymore. He is growing leaps and bounds and learning so many things. He had his 2-year check up on the 11th and she was happy with his progress although for the first time since he was a month old she was concerned about his weight and not because he gained too much. He weighed just under 32lbs and is now below the 90th percentile for first time in his life. Her concern was that he had come in for a sick visit a couple months prior and had lost almost a pound since that. Well on top of him being a VERY active 2-year old he had the stomach bug and didn't eat much for 5 days just prior to his appointment, that calmed her concerns. His height to weight ratio looked really good and he is 35 inches tall, 90th percentile and is growing just fine. She was very impressed that he knows MANY letters of the alphabet and that he is learning so much. We had a little talk about disciplining and he showed his true colors in which she prided me on how I handled it... wew, what a time to put me on the spot Gavin.
On to the birthday party... his birthday party couldn't have gone better. The theme of the party was Toy Story, he loves the movie and characters and we are all anxiously awaiting the 3rd one to come out soon. He had so many loved ones there to celebrate with him and got some great gifts. I actually got creative this year and made a cake in the shape of a 2 which I think turned out pretty good. He enjoyed blowing the candles out so much that he had to do it twice... it was exciting to see him do it all by himself and he was proud. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and here's to another great year with our little man!!!
