Two weeks ago Gavin had his 18-month check up... yep, I said 18-months. I can't believe it was a year and half ago that we welcomed our boy into the world. We have enjoyed all the things he has taught us, it's so much fun watching and playing with him. Of course we've had ups and downs as we all try to adjust but it's always worth it and I couldn't ask for a better family. He weighed in at 30.13 lbs and his weight to height ratio is still in the 97th percentile but his doctor is very happy with how he's growing and learning. I think it's hard to be born at 10.8 and not be at the top of the charts for a while. She watched him as he interacted with her and the tea set and while stacking blocks. These are all important stages and she was pleased!!! His appetite has slowed down tremendously which is really weird for us but we knew it would happen. I always think he's sick because in the past that's the only time he would turn down food but the doctor warned us at his 15-month check up that his appetite would diminish. He's really not picky about foods just doesn't want as much... I wish I had that kind of control!!!
Anyway, not much else has been going on in the household lately but I have some pictures to share. He decided to empty out the bottom two shelves in our pantry and this was something he actually didn't throw but he had to place things in certain areas... it was cute. Oh, while we were at the lake the weekend before Gavin got a red Osage Beach Firefighter Hat, I assume for dress up. Well, he was playing with it that Sunday and the strap that goes around his chin snapped him in the face and ever since he has quivered when we would go to put it on his head until one day last week when he pulled the strap out. I guess he realized it wasn't all that bad and would put the hat on his head and it didn't seem to bother him. I was going to do a makeshift outfit of a firefighter for him for Halloween but he destroyed the hat yesterday so it's back to square one.
